*{n} (DISK I/O)
*{n}
This disk I/O control forces a tab to the specified position before processing the next variable. The value {n} must be greater than or equal to one (1) and less than or equal to the sector size. It must be a valid Ctrl value, a numeric variable, an Expression, or an equated variable. The actual number of bytes bypassed by the tabbing varies, depending on the particular I/O instruction in use. Tabbing beyond physical record boundaries is not allowed and results in an I/O error.
