*PL

This disk I/O control disables the effect of the *LL control such that any character string variable output to disk is blank-filled from the Length Pointer through the Physical Length. Thus, input instructions blank-fill from the last character transferred through the Physical Length and set the Length Pointer to the Physical Length. This is the default control for all I/O instructions. This control affects all variables remaining in the list.
