This disk I/O control enables minus overpunch for negative numeric variables when writing to disk. If the right most digit is zero, it is converted to a right bracket `}'. Otherwise, the right most digit is converted from 1 to a `J', 2 to a `K', and so on through `R'. This control only affects the next variable in the list.
