Page Edit Mode
PAGE edit mode allows the operator to perform many of the LINE edit commands directly upon the data (through the usage of the function keys), rather than having to enter a command to cause these actions. These features are included in the editor to allow operators familiar with other editors to become versed in the usage of SUNEDIT in a shorter amount of time. The PAGE edit mode operates only on processors and/or terminals with function keys.
As in LINE edit mode, PAGE edit separates the screen into two areas. All lines except the bottom line are data lines and the bottom line is used for status information. PAGE edit mode is enabled by depressing the F4 key. It operates in two modes, cursor movement and data modification.
While using the PAGE mode editor, two states of operation are supported. The Cursor Movement State allows the user to freely position the cursor within the file. Once positioned, the Modification State commands allow the text to be modified.
