Shift Inversion Commands
Upon entering SUNEDIT, characters keyed are treated in a different manner than most editors. Letters keyed are automatically inverted to upper case. The shift key is necessary for lower case letters to be entered. Two commands available allow the operator to modify this sequence and to restore it. These commands are:
:X
Turn on shift inversion. If shift inversion is on, the shift key is necessary for upper case letters. Normal entry is lower case.
:XI
Turn off shift inversion. Letters keyed are in upper case unless the shift key is used, in which case they are converted to lower case.
:XQ
Suspend the editor and exit to the operating system. While at the operating system level, you must not start another edit session or delete any of the current editor work files. If you change the working directory, you must restore it prior to returning to the edit session. To return, enter the O.S. "EXIT" command.
:XQ {string}
Same as above, but also executes the command specified by {string} and immediately returns to the editor.
Note the following:
None of these commands has any effect on numbers or special characters.
