*RV

This list control retains the previous value of a variable upon occurrence of a null entry. Even if characters have been entered and then removed by using the backspace key prior to the ENTER key being pressed, the *RV control allows retention of the previous contents of the variable. This control only affects the next variable in the list.

If the CANCEL key is pressed, the field is cleared.

If a null entry is made, the variable remains unchanged and the EOS Condition Flag is set.
