EVENTQUEUE
8.1, PLBCMP GUI Only
The EVENTQUEUE instruction transfers operating system events to the runtime's event queue. The instruction uses the following format:
|
|
|
|
Where:
label
Optional. A Program Execution Label.
Flags Affected: none
Note the following:
Events are normally retrieved from the operating system and placed in the event queue when an EVENTCHECK or EVENTWAIT instruction is executed or every 256 instructions. Since 256 instructions could consume a fair amount of time, the EVENTQUEUE instruction allows the programmer to retrieve events at strategic points in the program allowing the program to possibly become more responsive.
The EVENTQUEUE instruction simply retrieves the events. An EVENTCHECK or EVENTWAIT instruction is still required to dispatch the event.
If a FILEPI instruction is active, the FILEPI is not terminated by this instruction.
This instruction is ignored if running under PLBSERVE and a FILEPI is active.
