*ABSOFF (DISK I/O)

 

*ABSOFF

 

This disk I/O control disables the effect of the *ABSON control such that only valid ASCII data may be transferred from a disk file into character string variables. End of record checking remains in effect. This control is the default for all I/O instructions.
