SelItemRange Method (DATALIST)

The SelItemRange method highlights multiple items in a multiple-selection DATALIST. The method uses the following format:

Where:

label

Optional. A Program Execution Label.

object

Required. A DATALIST object that is accessed.

return

Optional. A Numeric Variable that indicates the success or failure of the method.

select

Required. A decimal number or Numeric Variable that indicates the action as described below.

first

Required. A decimal number or Numeric Variable that indicates the zero-based first item to modify.

last

Required. A decimal number or Numeric Variable that indicates the zero-based item to modify.

Flags Affected: EOS, OVER, ZERO

Note the following:

1. The object must have the MULTISELECT property enabled.

2. If only one item is selected, use the SetSel method.

3. The {select} value is a constant as defined in PLBEQU.INC or a numeric variable indicating one of the following actions:

 

Value	Constant	The items specified are ...
0	$FALSE	displayed as normal text and not selected.
1	$TRUE	selected and highlighted.

4. Upon completion, {return} will contain the status of the method as follows. $TRUE and $FALSE are defined in PLBEQU.INC.

 

Value	Constant	The selection ...
0	$FALSE	failed.
1	$TRUE	was successful.

5. If the value returned is zero, the ZERO Condition Flag is set.

6. The OVER and EOS Condition Flags are always cleared.

7. For improved performance in the Application Server environment, do not specify the optional return value unless needed.
