Data Manager Installation

To install the Sunbelt Data Manager, simply copy or download the SUNDM.EXE and SUNDM.CFG files to the server. The default configuration file provides the necessary parameters to allow the client to locate the server. You must edit the file and modify the parameters as needed.

Using any text file editor, modify the parameters to indicate the server's IP address and the port number. Optionally, you may need to add a PLB_PATH keyword to inform the server of your index and data file locations and keywords that enable access by administrative programs such as the Watch utility. Below is a sample configuration file:

[Version]

Sundm=87

[Environment]

DM_PortNum=3934

DM_HostName=63.162.221.37

PLB_PATH=d:\data\ap;d:\data\ar

ADMIN_HOSTNAME=63.162.221.37

ADMIN_PORTNUM=2101

Additional configuration file keywords are available to further customize the operation of the data manager.

Once the configuration file has been modified, you may initiate the server task by executing the following command line:

     sundm -s
