Multilink Support
SUNDB86x Only
The following notes apply to the use of this software under The Software Link's MultiLink:
The DOS SHARE command should not be loaded with MultiLink.
Some conflicts have been noted between SUNDBSYS and the Gizmo card (or other Video RAM management cards). Efforts to obtain the necessary assistance from the developers have been unsuccessful. Only stand-alone programs, compiled using SUNDB86M with option C, have proven to work with this add-on card in virtually all cases.
SUNDBSYx should not be loaded in a background partition since it is not accessible to all users. It should be loaded before MultiLink or in the foreground partition.
PL/B KEYIN
instructions place a great demand upon the CPU. To minimize this load, the following MultiLink utility
may be executed on each user station:
MLUTIL
DIS
Consult the MultiLink User's Guide for more information. Note that this effectively disables the
*T list control.
Use of the windowing/sub-screening screen definitions may overwrite the console display unless appropriate measures are taken for those programs that write directly to video RAM (i.e., that are very common but referred to as 'ill-behaved' by The Software Link). The ANSI screen definition avoids these types of conflicts by letting the operating system control screen I/O but it does not support windowing/sub-screening.
Due to the fact that only one CPU task can be performed at a time, only one EXECUTE instruction may be performed at a time. Therefore, an EXECUTE may be forced to wait its turn and not perform as quickly as expected.
