*LC

This disk I/O control disables the effect of the *UC control such that data retrieved from or written to the disk remains in the case in which it was stored. This is the default control for all I/O instructions. This is the default mode of operation. The control remains in effect until a *UC (Upper Case) control is executed or until the program terminates.
