Opening and Saving Forms and PrintPages

To work on a form or a printpage, you must first open and display it on your screen. You may then edit, format, and print it. To preserve your work, you must save the document on a disk.

Opening

When you start the Form Designer, no form is displayed. To create a new, blank form, select File from the menu and then New Form or New PrintPage. Once a form or printpage has been created, select a control from the toolbox and draw on the form or printpage.

To open an existing form or printpage, use the Open command on the File menu or click the Open button on the toolbar. The Designer keeps track of the forms you worked on last. To open one of these forms or printpages quickly, just choose it from the recent files list at the bottom of the File menu.

You may open several forms or printpages at the same time and move between them as you work.

Saving

When you open a form or printpage, the Designer copies it from the disk and displays it in a design window. As you work, you change the copy of the form or printpage in the window. To preserve your changes, it is a good idea to save the form or printpage frequently. You may save quickly by clicking the Save button on the toolbar.

When you save a form or printpage, it remains on your screen so that you may continue working. To clear the design window your screen, close the form or printpage.
